Tom Waits Added to 2013 Bridge School Benefit Lineup

Categories: Show To Know

Yes, really. Tom Waits hasn't toured since 2008 (and says he has no plans to), but he's just joined the lineup for Neil Young's basically legendary (and basically acoustic) Bridge School Benefit concert, which goes down Oct. 26-27 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View.

Waits will only be performing Sunday, Oct. 27, along with CSNY, Queens of the Stone Age, My Morning Jacket, Elvis Costello, and more. (The Killers will be performing only on Saturday, Oct. 26.) According to his Facebook posting, Waits' all-acoustic set will feature songs from 2011's excellent Bad As Me, with a live band made up of Les Claypool, David Hidalgo, Casey Waits, and more.

"I had every good intention to stay home and work on my JD Salinger Halloween mask, but when Neil told me yesterday he was serving burnt cow's eyes on a flat tire and it's all gluten free, I invited myself!" Waits said on Facebook.

Seated tickets for the Sunday, Oct. 27, edition of Bridge School appear to be sold out, but lawn tickets are still available. Here's the full lineup. For more on the Bridge School Benefit and its mission, visit its website.
