Converse to Host Free Shows By Hot Chip, Mastodon, Suicidal Tendencies, More
Behold, another new vista in the world of band-brand intertwining: A shoe company hosting free shows by famous bands and holding a lottery to decide who gets in. Maybe that's not completely unheard-of, exactly, but this level of it is new to S.F. Your favorite maker of Chuck Taylors is holding a concert series called Represent here later this month (to coincide with the opening of a new retail store downtown, natch), and has brought in artists like Hot Chip, Deltron 3030, Suicidal Tendencies, and more to play for free to a club full of lucky people.
The shows will be held at Slim's, and you will need to enter a lottery to get in. Basically, go to this website before next Tuesday, June 18, and select two shows you want to go to. Then wait and see if you are lucky. Here are the full lineups:
June 23: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, DIIV, Metz, Tamaryn, the She's
June 24: Deltron 3030, Blackalicious, Angel Haze, 100s
June 25: Hot Chip, Tycho, Blackbird Blackbird, Social Studies
June 26: Quicksand, Mastodon, High on Fire, Saviours, Hot Lunch
June 27: Suicidal Tendencies, Rocket From the Crypt, The Bronx, Ceremony, the Shrine.
Again, you could see two of these for free -- if you win the lottery. You can enter here.
