Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds Announce San Francisco Show in April
Behold the lovely largesse of Coachella: Before the ever-dapper Australian rocker Nick Cave and his band the Bad Seeds hit Indio, they'll be playing a show -- just one -- here in San Francisco. The gig was announced today, and while we're not thrilled with the choice of venue, well, a Nick Cave show is a Nick Cave show.

The man typically typically plays at the Warfield in San Francisco, so we're a bit surprised that he's coming to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on April 9. The Civic is something of a giant cement box that doesn't always sound particularly good (though it's not uniformly bad, either). It also has a rather large capacity of 8,500. The Warfield, by contrast, holds about 2,300 people, and Cave has typically sold out two nights there on previous S.F. stops.
Anyway, Cave and the Bad Seeds will be on the road promoting Push the Sky Away, their quietly haunting new album. Check out the video for first single "Jubilee Street," above. Tickets for Cave's S.F. show go on presale this Thursday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m., and go on sale to the general public Friday, Feb. 15, also at 10 a.m. Grab them here.
