He is never, ever, ever, gonna play here, is he?
Update, Feb. 22: Yesterday, Morrissey's official position on the Feb. 24 S.F. show was that it was being "postponed" and would be rescheduled soon. Today, it's simply canceled, per a notice from show promoter Another Planet Entertainment:

The Morrissey concert scheduled for February 24 at Davies Symphony Hall has been canceled as Morrissey is currently undergoing treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett's esophagus. Due to venue availability, all parties concerned will be unable to reschedule this engagement. Refunds are available at the original place of purchase. Morrissey thanks everyone concerned for his well wishes and looks forward to getting back on the road.

Original post: We told you recently that the idea of Morrissey actually playing a scheduled tour date in San Francisco has become a joke. And we were right: The punchline, sadly, has just arrived.

Morrissey has called off this Sunday's show at Davies Symphony Hall due to his ongoing struggle with Barrett's esophagus and a bleeding ulcer, according to his publicist. We are told it will be rescheduled very soon. But note that this show was the rescheduled date of a show he canceled last November (due to his mother's illness). Prior to that, Morrissey canceled Bay Area shows in 2011 (due to a drummer's eye injury) and 2009 (after which he was seen chilling at the DNA Lounge). He also canceled at the last minute due to illness in 2004, but at this point, who's counting?

Here's the statement from Morrissey's publicist:

As the doctor has ordered additional rest for Morrissey, the upcoming engagements in Denver (2/21), Salt Lake City (2/22) and San Francisco (2/24) will need to be rescheduled. Morrissey is currently undergoing treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett's esophagus. These shows are in the process of being rescheduled immediately and all patrons are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as the new dates will be announced shortly. Morrissey thanks everyone concerned for their well wishes and looks forward to getting back on the road.

Note that Moz's L.A. show at Staples Center on March 1 has not been canceled. For Bay Area fans, one glimmer of hope remains: Morrissey is scheduled to play at the Regency Ballroom at the end of this tour, on March 9. That show has not been canceled or postponed so far. But, you know, if history is any guide...

He has that 1 song called America and talks about how we've never had a black president. I wonder how he saying that live now. He's a snobby English man who puts down Americans all the time I yet makes his millions from us and always tours in America.

I knew it. After the Fox cancellation last time, I have written off ever seeing him live. :(

I saw him in Stockton about a year ago and he sounded great. Great song selection, great energy...he actually sounded playful and looked like he was having fun with the audience. I decided that night it would probably be my last time seeing him..so I could end it on a high note. Since that show it's been one cancellation or reschedule after another. This latest round of cancellations sounds more legit but it's hard to give him much benefit of the doubt  given his history of random and maddening last second cancellations for bogus reasons.

At this point, if people are still buying tickets for his SF shows...I've got a bridge to sell you.

I love Moz, but he's cancelled AGAIN!!! that's literally 3 times in the last 3 years. He must hate the Bay!!! I showed up in Oakland last year and saw the hand written letter stating the drummer had poked his eye. Bummer...AGAIN!!!
