John C. Reilly to Perform with Lavender Diamond at the Chapel
So Lavender Diamond, the musical vehicle of L.A.'s nectar-voiced Becky Stark, is playing at new Mission venue the Chapel tomorrow night (Tuesday, Dec. 11). The bill also includes local folk singer Jessica Pratt, whom we've been writing a bit about lately.
But there's more: Careful Lavender Diamond watchers will know that Stark released a single on Jack White's record label with a certain well-known actor and singer named John C. Reilly, the B-side of which is the quiet, lovely country tune "I'm Making Plans." Stark and Reilly also toured together earlier this year. So guess who's dropping by Lavender Diamond's show tomorrow?
If you guessed John C. Reilly, you'd be right. That's not all though: Reilly also put out a record on Third Man with the singer Tom Brosseau, featuring "Gonna Lay Down My Old Guitar" and "Lonesome Yodel Blues #2." And Brousseau will be on hand at the Chapel tomorrow as well. So it'll be a night of fine singers in the house:
