Mark Eitzel Asks S.F.'s DJ Foodcourt For Song Advice, Doesn't Get What He Was Hoping For
Poor Mark Eitzel. The San Francisco songwriter, who's known for the gorgeous, gloomy music he's put out both solo and with American Music Club, has been soliciting advice from a whole host of people ahead of the release of his new album, Don't Be a Stranger, on Oct. 2. Unfortunately, as videos of the advice sessions have shown, the project hasn't been going too well. In the latest of the videos, which we're premiering right here on All Shook Down, Eitzel talks to San Francisco's DJ Foodcourt for a take on his new song, "All My Love." Foodcourt tries to be helpful (or pretends to try to be helpful, anyway) but the result is wholly dispiriting -- and very funny. Check it out below:

You can watch the rest of Eitzel's advice videos -- including the one where Billy B., the make-up artist for Lady Gaga, tells the singer to "play up the kind of gay thing" -- over on the Merge Records YouTube page. And check out "I Love You But You're Dead," the first single from the new album, right here:
