Phono Del Sol This Saturday Will See the End of Dominant Legs as We Know It
Today in the department of cryptic Tweets, we train our all-seeing eyes on a recent message from Ryan Lynch of Dominant Legs, who says that his delightful pop band will be undergoing a significant lineup change after this weekend's show at the Bay Bridged's excellent-looking Phono Del Sol music festival:
The current Dominant Legs lineup.
Sad but true. This Saturday will be the last show together for Andrew, Garett, Hannah, Rene and my self. DL is still a thing. Just changing.— Ryan Lynch (@DominantLynchie) July 17, 2012
What does that mean exactly? Here's what Lynch just told us in an email:
After Phono Del Sol Hannah will no longer be a part of Dominant Legs. I will be the only remaining member. I will be moving out of the Bay Area and others have decided to pursue opportunities elsewhere. There will still be Dominant Legs music, but it could just be my self. Time will tell.
That's sad to hear, because the current Dominant Legs lineup is a fine thing both on record and on stage, with lush, subtly funky arrangements and a keen pop sensibility. We were effusive in praising the band's full-length debut, Invitation, last year, and we meant it.
Let us also not forget to mention the all-around awesomeness of the Phono Del Sol lineup, which is the best thing you're going to get for $7-10 this weekend, period. With the Fresh & Onlys and Unknown Mortal Orchestra headlining, and a bunch of other excellent artists from the indie side of things, there isn't a shabby name on this Bay Bridged-produced bill. The music starts promptly at 12 noon, so get your ass up and get down to Potrero Del Sol Park. (Skip brunch, too, because they'll have plenty of food.)
