As everyone knows, summertime in San Francisco starts in mid-April, takes a pause in June for two months of frigid wind and fog, then returns toward the middle of August. So our summer is more or less on now. And today, as if aware of this, the S.F. band most likely to write the anthem of the warm part of the year, A B & the Sea, posted its debut album online for you to stream.

We've written about A B & The Sea before, partly because the band has a habit of resurfacing in the spring months when its beachy, cheerful pop does down best. That habit continues with debut Constant Vacation, which begs to be blasted from a sandy bombox while young, beautiful, carefree people frolic in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The production is crisp, the harmonies are plentiful and immaculate, and the hooks are gushy. Check it out now -- the album won't officially come out until June, and we're hearing that this stream might get taken down at some point.

Oh, and don't blame us if you find yourself unable to resist playing hooky from work/school/etc. to go enjoy the S.F. summertime along with this record. If you really, really like it, the band is playing tomorrow night (Thursday, May 3) at Great American Music Hall, and word is the first 200 people through the door get a free copy of Constant Vacation.
