When Main Attrakionz and Dominant Legs Get Remixed Together, Good Things Happen

Dominant Legs: Sweetly chiming San Francisco indie-pop. Main Attrakionz: Stony Oakland "cloud rap." In the balkanized, pre-millenial music world, never would these twain have met. But 2012, smooth indie and hazy hip-hop is a cross-bay fantasy just waiting to be realized. Courtesy of DJ Ammbush, it has been: This remix finds Attrakionz's Squadda Bambino and Mondre Man waxing polite over the tinkle-tinkle of Dominant Legs' "Make Time for the Boy." And how is it? Er, dreamy, really:
Well, dreamily naive: "I got people who don't like me but I know I'm the best... fuck the world, it's for family now," Mondre Man intones in his usual half-asleep and 100-percent charming drymouth. It works well -- surprisingly so, without coming off gimmicky or pat. So here's to a world (and a Bay Area) where synthy sensitivity and gravity-ignoring bedroom hip-hop are on the same team. Happy listening.
