Seventeen Evergreen Has a New Album and Is Back to Making Trippy Videos, Thankfully
Oh, it gets much weirder.
Remember the last time San Francisco electro-rock duo Seventeen Evergreen released a piece of eye-candy? It was November, and the clip was a yarn-bombing odyssey of a music video for "Polarity Song," which pretty much delighted and freaked out viewers in equal measure. (The idea of being pulled into an alternate yarn-covered world with a bunch of MGMT-indebted freaks while shopping at an Oakland thrift store is, yeah, kinda terrifying.)
Well, today sees release of Seventeen Evergreen's Steady on, Scientist, a full-length that counts as the band's first proper follow-up to a debut LP released five years ago. And in keeping with their new reputation as audio-visual explorers, the band has released a deliciously psychedelic trailer for the album, offering a brief taste of their overcast electro-acid-pop. These Antoine Boilevin-created visuals are a feast, and you can grab a download of new song "Fluorescent Kind" after the jump as well.
A new song for download:
Seventeen Evergreen also has the enviable position of opening up for Chairlift and Nite Jewel at the Independent on April 10, where we can all but promise that the band will bring some of its wacked-out visuals to the stage.
