Ceremony's "World Blue" Video Is One Minute and 39 Seconds of Furious Moshing

Ceremony: Loud, if not clear.

Ceremony, an fearsomely powerful Rohnert Park hardcore band, is the newest signing to vaunted indie label Matador Records; its new album, the blistering Zoo, hit the streets today.

To celebrate the release, the band is playing a free in-store at Amoeba tonight at 6 p.m. It's also headlining 924 Gilman this Saturday, along with Cold World, the Nubs, and more. (Obviously, the show is all-ages.) To get an idea what to expect at either of these happenings, check out the video for "World Blue," the first single from Zoo, below. True to the hardcore aesthetic, the song and video are brief, abrasive, and intense. The video also consists entirely of black-and-white footage of the band performing and fans going nutso in the moshpit. Watch this and you'll have some idea why a label like Matador would be into signing Ceremony -- in addition to fitting well with other label bands like Fucked Up, Ceremony seems to steamroll on the live stage.

Check out the video for "World Blue" and download the band's new single, "Adult," after the jump.
