Yeah So Pulp Sold Out the Warfield in Less Than 10 Minutes

Crushed. Crestfallen. Epically disappointed.

Start brainstorming adjectives now for your Tweets and Facebook status updates, 'cause there ain't no more tickets left to see Pulp at the Warfield, people. Tickets went on sale this morning at 10 a.m., and by 10:08, when our number got called in the online waiting room, the British band's first S.F. show since 1996 was sold. the fuck. out.

On the bright side, we're sure that everyone who bought tickets ahead of us this morning is a diehard Pulp fan, and is going to have the time of their lives on April 17, when the band detours from its two Coachella performances to play the Warfield. They weren't scalpers or robots. Nope. Not at all.

So listen to this song again, for the 247,093rd time, because unless you're rich, a dickface, a Coachella ticket holder, or really goddamn lucky*, this is as close as you're getting to Pulp in 2012. (It's not at all surprising that this show sold out so quickly, but oh, it still hurts.)

*Or unless the band adds another SF show, WHICH WE ARE RIGHT NOW ON OUR KNEES BEGGING FOR.

Amazing write-up! This could aid plenty of people find out more about this particular issue. Are you keen to integrate video clips coupled with these? It would absolutely help out. Your conclusion was spot on and thanks to you; I probably won’t have to describe everything to my pals. I can simply direct them here!

How do you know this ticket is on sale today?  Do you subscribe to the band's email list?

they didn't sell out to fans...  Some scalpers had "bots". They can get through Ticketmaster's word scramble verification easily...and now on the crappy AXS site... Imagine 10,000,000 pre-registered Bots entering that waiting room before 10:00am... Where does that put you, the fans, in terms of when you'll get tickets??? Ever notice on eBay and craigslist there isn't a single pair of tickets from a Private seller?????? Yet on StubHub and shady ticket brokers you can find hundreds of floor tickets, lower balcony, etc???

This is the future of ticket-buying kids... Ticketmaster and AXS have no interest in stopping it...So by-pass these sites, ignore the face value price, and go directly to stub hub or Johnny Fingers' Mafia Tickets... Where you can grab $48 PULP tickets for $223.00 and up... Also, don't believe the BOT thing?? All Floor tickets to RADIOHEAD sold out within 23 seconds at HP Pavilion???  HP PAVILION Is MASSIVE!

Here's an interesting thing I just noticed:

I got tickets. Yes, I do know that I was very lucky. I got Lower Balcony 6, but I really wanted floor, so I went to Stub Hub just to see what is there. There are no tickets for sale for Lower Balcony 6 or any of the sections on the edges.

Why? Here's my theory. I think those outer tickets were the only ones in the online sale and sold to actual fans who would not re-sell. Which means all the center sections were somehow pre-sold. It was claimed that there were no pre-sales. Hmmm.

Ian? You should investigate this!

The infuriating thing is, it actually wasn't sold out immediately and I think a lot people missed out on tickets due to the error message shown above. I was also waiting in the lobby since 9:45 and when my turn/search for best available at about 10:03 came up, the message stated nothing could be found. I think at this point many people who received the same message may have given up. I kept retrying and got lower balcony seats after another couple of minutes. My wife and I continued on different computers to try and get better seats for up to 5 or 10 minutes after that and occasionally additional seats would come up (we didn't end up buying any additional). It may have been people not completing their purchases, or maybe the whole Goldenvoice system was BS. Overall, people should be mad. This was one of the most deceptive and frustrating ticketing systems I've ever tried to use.

one of my tickets is "accessible" ... does that mean I need a wheelchair or something? It's seriously in a blue box on the map and doesn't have a seat number. I'll break my legs if I have to.

I got really lucky apparently - I got two tickets in the lower lodge at the Warfield. I'm a long time fan from Seattle, and I usually don't have great luck with ticket sites. I guess this was my day :)

all i'm saying is that the radio city music hall show is not sold out and that show is before the warfield show. radio city uses ticketmater...and although ticketmaster isn't perfect, it's obviously better than the warfields ticket system that lets online scalpers etc buy tickets. tickets should be for the the fans...not the 210 tickets that are available right now on stubub for an arm and a leg. hoping for a 2nd show and hoping they'll do something about the scalper problem!

Obviously better? It was the same shit over there. Stubhub listed OVER 500 tickets for Radio City today!!

Incorrect information! A) Radio City is sold out. and B) Ticketmaster is the worst.

Ticketmaster is the worst...so unpreidctable. Turns out they started selling handicapped tickets around 2 or 3 pm as general tickets re-released and I got two tickets to Radio City Music Hall in the last fucking row of the orchestra.  Still very grateful!!!  I was online immediately from 9:45 on, and got nothing the second they went on sale. Then the site kept giving me 15 minute wait signs which actually took 45 minutes to say no more tickets. Can't believe they re-released those handicapped seats at the end. Lets hope they add a date that Thursday though--they could obviously sell it out.

Was in the waiting room at 9:45 and purchased tickets at 10:01.  Very relieved... hope they add some more dates, there's obviously the demand!

I tryed to buy tickets since 9am, waited on the online waiting list and in less than 2 minutes it was over! I called and they said, "yep. it's sold out". I was 10:03 am.I just check Craigslist and Ebay to see if those people that bought tickets are fans or scalpers! i have to say i know the answer! SCALPERS!!!! The Warfield allows people to buy up to 8 tickets per person and that obviously support the scalp work, if we can call it work. I don't know any Pulp fan in California that got tickets this morning, everybody is crushed. The Warfield policy is RIDICULOUS! and I'm heart broken...

I got ours by logging in at 9:45 and waiting. Had a feeling it might sell out. Not a rich gal, just an avid  Pulp fan who is thrilled they are going to visit our fair city once again.  Maybe they will add a second night.

I did the same thing and got all kinds of lucky w/two floor tix. Really hoping they add a 2nd show for my friends who missed out.

In a related story, ticket resellers are assholes.

Ditto.  I was not prepared to leave anything up to chance and managed to get into the waiting room at 9.45, with tickets by 10.01.  I feel very, very lucky.

Stubhub has 182 tickets! WTF!!

Pacolli

Yep, tho tix were already sold out by 10:04, the time I got in. Funny enough by 10:20 eBay had plenty available at prices greater than the cost of my flight over from London! Gutted.

I don't even know why you are attempting to come here to see them.  Buying tickets here is a nightmare.  I flew to Ireland to see them at Electric Picnic in September and the ticket purchasing and overall festival going experience was excellent.  Try Spain.

Please consider that not everyone has an extra thousand dollars or so for flight and lodgings overseas at the moment.  Airline flights to the UK and Europe are insanely expensive these days.
