Oakland Rapper Too $hort Is Holding a Fundraiser for S.F. Mayoral Candidate Leland Yee
And in the category of "we didn't know he cared!" we bring you this news: Too $hort -- naughty Oakland rapper, major Warriors fan, and scourge of conservative types everywhere -- is holding a fundraiser for S.F. mayoral candidate Leland Yee.
Which, huh?
Yep, $hort -- most notably of "Blow the Whistle" fame, although he actually did write a song about a woman who died while giving him a blowjob -- is apparently a serious Yee supporter. He's putting on an event next Wednesday at the Rasselas Jazz Club in the Fillmore where he'll perform and offer his support for the state senator's mayoral bid.
And while we're not sure what that says about Yee, who, as SF Gate points out, gets support from various anti-domestic violence groups, it truly points out the extent to which Too $hort is a character inhabited by the (politically active!) man named Todd Shaw.
