MC Hammer Lines Up for Ed Lee in Ridiculous Music Video Featuring Ashkon, Will.i.am, Brian Wilson, and Willie Brown

Because only Ed Lee will restore Hammer's supply of apple butter. Or something.

Well, "Too legit to quit" was a perfect out-of-the-box slogan for mayoral candidate Ed Lee, and apparently Bay Area rapper MC Hammer was happy to lend it to him. Hammer himself appears in this ridiculously cheesy campaign video, which has tech mavens from Google and Twitter, Brian Wilson, Willie Brown, and Ashkon (he of Giants anthem fame) attempting to convince you that Ed Lee should continue his stint in City Hall's Room 200. (It's worth pointing out that only two of the many Lee supporters in this video are actually eligible to vote for him.) We're not sure if this will work on voters -- the video only worked at making us cringe, to be honest -- but it's certainly grabbed a lot of attention. Watch the video after the jump.
