Win Tickets to See Bob Mould in Conversation with Shepard Fairey at Herbst Theatre

Bob Mould

And now for something a little different: Later this month, the esteemed Noise Pop organization is teaming up with City Arts and Lectures for what sounds to us like a freaking awesome conversation:

Bob Mould interviewed by Shepard Fairey.

Yep, that's the Bob Mould -- most notably of punk legends Hüsker Dü, but also a DJ, writer, gay icon, and San Francisco resident. And that's Shepard Fairey, OBEY creator, artist, and designer of the indelible Obama Hope poster.

They're getting together for a chat at Herbst Theatre on Sept. 20. And we have two tickets to give away to a lucky All Shook Down reader.

Want to win? Here's what you have to do to enter:

1. Like us on Facebook:

2. Leave a comment below telling us, briefly, why you want to hear Mould and Fairey talk. Which of these chaps are you most interested in? Why? You don't have to write a novel, but please give us some idea of what this might mean to you. (Note: Please sign in to Disqus with a valid email address or with some social networking login, so that we have a way to contact you if you've won. We swear we won't contact you for any other reason, even if you're really, really hot.)

We'll announce the winners next Tuesday on this blog. Good luck!

I'd be interested in hearing how they portray their respective genres to each other, and if there can be any relation between the two established through their own perspectives, along with their view of their own.

I want to hear them talk to get their perspectives on social change and the role pop culture and the arts play in instituting change. I'm equally interested in hearing both of them talk.

I would like to hear them talk so I have some conversation fodder for when I go to that hip rooftop party in the Mission.

I would like to see Mould speak about where he sees the future of diy arts and media going forward. In what ways does be wish for future synergies and how can the viral nature of street art be applied to the digital media distribution model that is currently in use by the Indie artists which Mould stands for.

Looking forward to both!  Have been a huge fan of Bob Mould since my teenage years.  The evolution of his life is inspiring.  Yes...collector of Shepard's art.  The two together, knowing what a fan Shep is of Bob as well, should make for some rather interesting conversation.

I'd like to see Mould talk more than Shep, not only because I've been a fan of first Sugar, and then Husker Du for years; but because I want to find out what the deal was with him writing story lines for pro wrestling, (he must cover it in his book, but I've been to unemployed lately to buy it)
