Facebook wants to publicize your music listening.

The Palo Alto social networking giant unveiled a host of new features at its f8 development conference today in San Francisco -- among them, new ways to tell your friends what you're listening to and check out what they're listening to.

The company announced partnerships with Spotify, Rhapsody, Turntable.fm, MOG, and many other music services, which will integrate with the site. Users who sign in to their music service via Facebook can show what they're listening to via the site's new news Ticker. The songs will be there for friends to see -- and one can even recommend songs to other users.

The music you listen to over time will accumulate in the new Timeline, thus revealing your strange obsession with Hanson, or the fact that you're just as into Adele as everyone else.

Despite what some have suggested, you still won't be able to actually stream the tracks through Facebook -- clicking on a song will launch another music client.

Still, this has the potential to make any Facebook user a DJ for their friends at any time.

What do you think? Will these changes improve your music listening?
