Vinyl Appreciation Society Holds First Mixer in Lower Haight Tomorrow

We'll be the first to admit that we have a serious crack problem. And, frankly, we take our crack black. We'll find refuge with people who are also addicted tomorrow night at the very first Vinyl Appreciation Society Mixer at Record Pressing, an S.F. company that specializes in manufacturing vinyl recordings.

"Bring your snobbery and a record to brag about," states the party flyer. Our biggest challenge in preparing for this event is not what to wear, but what slab to drag down to the Lower Haight. Right now, we're going back and forth between the Thriller picture disc and a rare E-40 white-label 12-inch, but that plan is likely to be abandoned many times before tomorrow. (This would never happen at an MP3 Appreciation Society function.)

Declare your allegiance to the platters that matter tomorrow (Friday, Aug. 5) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Record Pressing (475 Haight at Fillmore); RSVP on the shop's Facebook page to attend.
