We're very excited to announce nominations for the 2011 SF Weekly Web Awards are now open.

We're asking you -- the very smart, very savvy, and very awesome readers of SF Weekly -- to help us find the best San Francisco has to offer online. Whether that's the Twitter feed you can't stop checking, the local podcast that makes your Muni commute bearable, the fashion blogger who keeps you up to date, or the food blogger who keeps you hungry, we want to hear about 'em. Head over to our online poll to nominate your favorites

Nominations will be open through Sunday, Aug. 21. Starting on Monday, Aug. 22, we'll have an online poll up, asking you to help us pick the finalists. The top three nominations in each category will be sent along to our crack team of judges:

  • Blag Dahlia, lead singer of the Dwarves, author of the novels Armed to the Teeth with Lipstick and Nina, host of punk podcast RadioLikeYouWant.com
  • Isaac Fitzgerald, managing editor at the Rumpus
  • Reyhan Harmanci, culture editor at the Bay Citizen
  • Brock Keeling, editor-in-chief of SFist
  • Kevin Montgomery, founder of Uptown Almanac
  • Anthony Myint, cofounder of Mission Street Food, Commonwealth, and Mission Chinese Food
  • Iso Rabins, founder of ForageSF and SF Underground Market
  • Beth Spotswood, blogger for SFGate, writer for CBS San Francisco.com, c0host of Necessary Conversation
  • Eric Steuer, Creative Commons senior advisor, Wired correspondent, and musician/producer/remixer
  • Owen Thomas, editor-in-chief of the Daily Dot, former executive editor of VentureBeat, founding editor of Valleywag

Even with a crew of hitters like that, we still need a little help. That's why this year we have the Readers' Choice category, which asks you to help us figure out the Best San Francisco Meme, the Most Shameless Self-Promoter, the Most Useful App for San Franciscans, and the Sexiest Geek. We've also got a Wild Card category, for anything we've missed. After nominations close on Aug. 21, we'll post the Readers' Choice picks on the website, and let you decide who should take home the prize.

Of course, we're not gonna give all these things away and not have a party. On September 9 we'll be throwing a party at 111 Minna to celebrate our city's digerati. We hope to see you there.

Want to make sure we pick your favorites? Get to nominating! Best of luck to all.
