Tori Amos Will Play Oakland's Paramount Theatre in December
This year, Tori Amos is taking it back to the old school. She's writing the music for a 2012 production of the 19th-century fairy tale The Light Princess for London's Royal Theatre, and her forthcoming album, Night of Hunters, is said to be a modern-day song cycle inspired by some 400-odd years of classical music compositions.
Amid all this time traveling, Amos will also find time to tour. She'll be landing in the Bay Area this December -- and tickets for the show go on sale this week.
The otherworldly pianist has never really been of our time, space, or form, whether imagining interplanetary travel (To Venus and Back) or casting herself into the immobile (American Doll Posse).
But this week, Amos announced her "Night of Hunters Tour," which stops at Oakland's Paramount Theatre on December 16. Tickets go on sale on Friday (July 29) at 11 a.m. on Live Nation, Ticketmaster, and at the Paramount box office. It may be the last time you catch her in 21st-century mode for a while.
