Illness Forces Adele to Cancel North American Tour, Including Berkeley Show
Bad news for those of you (read: us) who were pumped for rolling in the deep with the chart-dominating British R&B singer Adele this Saturday night at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley: Because of illness, the sold-out show, along with the remaining North American dates of her tour, have been canceled.

Adele previously canceled five shows under doctors' orders after she was diagnosed with laryngitis. She had been hoping to resume the tour with this Saturday's show in Berkeley, according to a statement from her publicist. But an ear, nose, and throat specialist in Los Angeles told her she must take several weeks off to completely rest her voice.
"I'm really frustrated," Adele said in the statement. "I was hoping with a week's rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctor's advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele."
Originally scheduled for the Warfield, Adele's show was moved to the Greek Theatre after her sophomore album, 21, proved a blockbuster. So far it has spent a total of nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, helping to sell out all of her North American shows.
