The Eagle Tavern: It's only John Dwyer's favorite place to play.
We saw this coming! Today, three San Francisco Supervisors -- Scott Wiener, Jane Kim, and David Campos -- began an official effort to defend the beloved gay bar and live music venue Eagle Tavern against a landlord who plans to shut it down at the end of this month.

They wrote to interim Police Chief Jeff Godown, asking him to heavily scrutinize any proposed transfer of the Eagle's liquor license to a new business. Which, to us, sounds like a shot across the bow of a landlord who clearly wants to see a different business at 398 12th Street. And that's just rad.

"We are adamantly opposed to any sale that would result in the Eagle's destruction," today's letter reads. In other words, leave our awesome leather bar alone, Santa Rosa dude.
