Moe Green swims great.
Vallejo rapper Moe Green isn't known for being an idiot -- if anything, the up-and-coming rhymer has a reputation for working his ass off -- but this latest move qualifies as extra savvy: Remixing "Swim Good," one of the many white-hot R&B jams on Odd Future member Frank Ocean's new Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape, into his own song, fittingly titled "Swim Great."

Ocean's original is a slow-burning confessional about struggling through a vast sea of self-doubt, fronted by the singer's silvery croon. Green, though, ups the low-end and drops his own sincere-seeming (yet no more self-assured) rhymes over Ocean's willing beat, sticking to the same lyrical theme. It's a winner. And there's also a fun line about tweeting music that we won't spoil for you.

To be fair, much of the radness here comes from the heartstring-tugging piano chords and supreme vocalizing on Ocean's track. But to the credit of the rapper, this song sounds less like an awkward remix and more like a well-fitted original. Hear it below, and feel free to deposit any thoughts on how Moe Green might soon be an important Bay Area rapper. Maybe these two should collaborate in person?
