Yoshi's S.F. Announces Japan Benefit with Anthony Brown's Asian American Jazz Orchestra

As the full scope of the Japan Earthquake disaster comes into view, everyone with a connection to Japan -- and many without one -- are pitching in to help as best they can. Count among those the San Francisco music venue and restaurant Yoshi's, whose Japan benefit event will feature live music from local groups including Anthony Brown's Asian American Jazz Orchestra, plus food (and wine!) from 13 chefs from top local restaurants.

Along with the orchestra, musical performers will include special guests the Murasaki Ensemble, Rhythmix Taiko drummers, and Sambasia. Chefs cooking for the afternoon event hail from local restaurants like Boccalone, Prospect, Zero Zero, and many others. Tickets are $75 per person, but 100 percent of proceeds will go to the American Red Cross for Japan earthquake relief. Plus, for every dollar donated, the Ogawa Family will match that contribution, up to $500,000. The benefit takes place Saturday, April 9, at Yoshi's in San Francisco.
