Help Kickstart A Dope New San Francisco Music Compilation
Another week, another cause to devote your disposable income to. Peter Arko and Robert Khoury, the respective head honchos of venerable local music blogs Ears of the Beholder and See the Leaves, are teaming up to start a compilation series called City Limits Records, where "influential bloggers/musicians/tastemakers" from all over the country (dare we say globe?) show off their scenes.
The first installment is for San Francisco, natch, and it's already got a baker's dozen of confirmed acts, including the spidery post-punk paranoia of The Soft Moon, the damaged electro-pop of Exray's, and the "beautifully stoned" imminent international threat of Young Prisms. Even the list itself is a heartening state-of-the-scene reminder: we're cooking up some marvelous shit, San Francisco. Way to be.
Arko and Khoury hope to raise $2,300 to put out the first edition on color virgin vinyl (I don't actually know what that means, but it sounds like olive oil, and who doesn't like that?) complete with digital download code. $2,300 is a pretty paltry sum when you think about it, considering you spent a non-trivial fraction of that amount to go see Maus Haus at Treasure Island. Help them help you represent for Bay Area cred by pitching in on their Kickstarter page.
