Extra, Extra: Radiohead Newspaper Giveaway in S.F. Today
| Le Sigh |
I'm obviously going to regret posting this when I show up at 2 p.m. and supplies are long gone, but so be it: today is the day us kicking screaming gucci little piggies get a free copy of The Universal Sigh, Radiohead's answer to the Panorama (or something).
The newspaper, which promises to contain all manner of artfully stilted sky-is-fallingisms, is a gesture to commemorate today's official hard-copy release of The King of Limbs. Ever the forward-thinkers, Radiohead will be monitoring the project's carbon footprint and retiring an equivalent number of credits. (Watch the cute lil' video about carbon retirement and imagine how much creepier it would be if set to, like, "Pull/Pulk Revolving Doors.")
The Universal Sigh will be distributed beginning at 1 p.m. this afternoon outside of Amoeba Music on Haight and at 16th and Mission. (If you're reading this from Latvia or Australia for some reason, fear not! Here's a full list of locations.) Once you snag your copy, be sure to snap a photo for the website, where "the lucky owners of the gratis tabloid are invited to post pictures of themselves and their friends reading the newspaper in locations diverse and unusual." This will also permit me to identify and castigate acquaintances who don't save me a copy.
