Zion I and The Grouch Reunite for Sophomore LP Heroes in the Healing of the Nation

In 2006, Zion I and The Grouch, two of the bigger names in Bay Area hip-hop, teamed up to deliver Heroes in the City of Dope. The album turned out to be a refreshing collaboration, full of exquisite wordplay and rubbery, hyphy-inspired production. It also served as a return to form for two acts whose previous releases had been a bit stale. Now they're ready to revisit this project, with plans to release a second album Heroes in the City of Healing and embark on a nationwide tour in support.

Heroes in the Healing of the Nation will come out on March 22, and features an impressive list of guests, including Roy Ayers, Freeway, and Fashawn, along with Bay Area acts such as Mystic, Casual, and Los Rakas. As for the tour, they're taking Bay Area MC Jacka, and LA rhymespitter Blu with them on the road as they travel from coast to coast. They'll kick things off March 19 at The Fillmore, and loop through the nation, wrapping up at Santa Clara's The Avalon on April 29. In the meantime, check out the teaser video for Heroes in the Healing of the Nation. If the boom-bap song in the background is any indication, this album will go toe to toe with the last one.
