​By now you may have heard the bad news about Kool Herc, one of hip-hop's founding fathers: He needs a stent from a recent kidney stone removed, but doesn't have health insurance. Father Herc has to throw down a hefty deposit to get the medical work done.

To help out, both locations of S.F.'s Papalote Mexican Grill are donating 10 percent of today's proceeds to Herc's healthcare fund. See the full details on our sister blog, SFoodie, and find a reminder of why Herc is so regarded after the jump.
