After staying plenty busy in 2010 with his S.F.-based label Frite Nite, and serving as a resident at the weekly Change The Beat party, Salva doesn't seem to be letting up in 2011. Today sees the release of his debut album, Complex Housing, which offers up 14 tracks full of futuristic, funk and hip-hop-inspired electronic music. In celebration of the new album, Fact Magazine is streaming the thing in its entirety, and Salva's also throwing a record release party at 222 Hyde next week.

On Complex Housing, Salva mostly eschews the blunted, off-kilter sound popular among experimental hip-hop producers right now, instead opting for cleaner, funkier synths and snappy drums. But he also avoids getting too house-y or rav-ey. Over the course of the album you'll hear Salva playing around dubstep, house, and purple influences. A couple of the tracks even have tinges of the Scandinavian skweee genre. But for the most part, Salva's work isn't derivative, and he works these influences into the framework of his own sound.

As for the album release party, Salva is taking over 222 Hyde on Thursday, February 17, and will have plenty of support from S.F. peers such as B. Bravo, Comma, Epcot, Psych Tyson, and Shlohmo. But because 222 Hyde is currently in a battle with the S.F. Fire Marshal over their max capacity, the number of tickets for this event will be "EXTREMELY limited" -- so it's probably best to buy the $8 ticket in advance if you plan on going.

Complex Housing is available now on Friends of Friends records.
