| He wanted to give. |
Now here's a video that fits well with the accompanying song -- we can't get a clear grip on either.
Sic Alps new album
Napa Asylum (out tomorrow) is a bewildering, dirty, vaguely depressing slog, and we mean that in a good way! So the video for its first single, "Do You Want to Give $$" is a bewildering, filmy clip of busy workaday San Francisco intermixed with shots all vagely related to money: ATMs, panhandlers, dude with crumpled bills.
Sooo grainy. Not exactly plot-driven, but so relentlessly confusing and shaky, and yet persistently thematic, anyway. Check it out:
Oh, and catch Sic Alps at the mother of all local rock shows Feb. 9, when the Sonic Youth-praised stalwarts play with Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees at
Great American Music Hall.
