The
local chapter of the Recording Academy -- y'know the folks who give out Grammy awards --
did something pretty cool on Wednesday: They gathered a bunch of local artists and industry professionals and brought them over to SF State for Grammy Career Day, a daylong reality check and guide to music industry for about 700 Bay Area high school students. There were panels on such diverse topics as DIY culture, jazz improvisation, and the realities of the music business. Also, performances from rising musicians who are also students. Check out these photos for a taste.
