Turns Out Songbirds Can't Fly: Joan Baez Falls Out of A Treehouse
Sleeping in trees is nice (yes, we've tried it!); falling out of them is not. Joan Baez discovered that songbirds can't fly earlier this week, when she fell 20 feet out of a treehouse at her Woodside (Peninsula) home, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
The 69-year-old singer, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Performer, Bob Dylan-shit-talker, and all around amazing folkstress was fine after being treated Wednesday for minor injuries at Stanford hospital.
We'd love to see her apparently wall-less treehouse, which is complete with bed. She built it to be able to sleep with the birds, according to an interview she gave in 2008. "I sleep in a tree all summer long," she told a blogger. "The birds are right there in the morning. Sometimes they're flying so close to my head, I can feel the wind."
