Pseudo-slapstick comedy legend and all-around silver fox Leslie Nielsen died yesterday at 84. I don't know about you, but his unflappable deadpan, as highlighted in Airplane!, the Naked Gun series, and to a way lesser extent a rash of ill-advised later comedies, had a big impact on my budding pre-adolescent sense of humor.
