James Brown lives on in the spirit of Sila Mutungi and the Afrofunk Experience

Now that we're done stuffing our faces with garlic fries and hot dogs for the World Series, it's time to start stuffing our faces for world peace -- or at least, world improvement. On November 19th and 20th, Club Dine In will present a two-day benefit concert to help heal the horrible destruction caused by natural disasters and generally poor living conditions in Pakistan. The show features diverse musical talent, and -- did you see this coming? -- delicious pancake creations courtesy of various celebrity chefs.

Head to Coda to hear music of the world's people interpreted with modern touches. Silas Matungi and the Afro-Funk Experience will headline both performances with traditional Afro-funk in the key of infinite cool. They'll get support from artists who fuse technology with their homeland's unique styles, such as DJ Amar's swirling sitar productions and DJ Santero's futuristic Latin beats. Be there at 7 p.m. Friday, and at 11 a.m. Saturday, to catch the festivities, support the cause, and eat pancakes.
