This just in: the Exotic Erotic Ball, scheduled for tonight and tomorrow night at a waterfront venue in Richmond, has been canceled. This would have been the 31st year of the ball's celebration of "flesh, fetish, and freedom."
In a press release, the organizers said the event was ditched due to sagging ticket sales, cost overruns, and "operational issues."
Long held around Halloween in the Cow Palace, the Exotic Erotic Ball moved this year to Richmond's waterfront to be surrounded by natural beauty, organizers said. The new venue shrank the event's capacity from 20,000 to 14,000.
Organizers say ticket holders should follow their bank's procedure for a refund.
