Watch Tamaryn's Trippy Video for "Love Fade"

Many on the Internet -- including us -- have been making positive noises about San Francisco-via-Brooklyn band Tamaryn for a while now (at least, a while in web time). Today, the duo releases its debut album, The Waves, on the Mexican Summer label. The album is loaded with enough ethereal synth sounds, jangly guitar riffs, rolling drum rhythms, reverberated bass tones, and other lovely Kate Bush-isms to last us through the winter (at least). Here, one such moody cut comes to us in the form of a pretty darn trippy music video.

"Love Fade" sounds like an ideal melding of The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and Cocteau Twins, with a similar dark-and-roomy production style. The video seems ripped from the same era that influenced the song: Stark, brightly colored images are superimposed over one another -- close-ups of singer Tamaryn and guitarist Rex twist and turn, a shirtless boy floats about, and other hazy clips fade in and out -- for an amorphous piece that could've easily been made with re-appropriated footage from a lost VH1 Classics broadcast.
