Watch Tamaryn's Trippy Video for "Love Fade"
"Love Fade" sounds like an ideal melding of The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and Cocteau Twins, with a similar dark-and-roomy production style. The video seems ripped from the same era that influenced the song: Stark, brightly colored images are superimposed over one another -- close-ups of singer Tamaryn and guitarist Rex twist and turn, a shirtless boy floats about, and other hazy clips fade in and out -- for an amorphous piece that could've easily been made with re-appropriated footage from a lost VH1 Classics broadcast. See how '80s the band looks in real life tomorrow at the Elbo Room, for Tamaryn's CD release show. Another not-too-shabby local shoegaze band called Weekend is playing as well.
