​Jimi Hendrix died 40 years ago this past Saturday, September 18. To mark the icon's passing, the music-focused
San Francisco Art Exchange is holding an exhibition of photos of the legendary guitarist titled, appropriately, "Can You See Me -- A Life Through the Lens." This Saturday, September 25, at the opening reception, Hendrix producer/engineer
Eddie Kramer -- who worked on all of Jimi's studio albums, and helped set up
Electric Lady Studios in New York -- will be at the gallery playing a new box set of unreleased Hendrix tunes. The set includes four CDs of music from Hendrix's days as a sideman, fresh demos, and alternate takes of classic Hendrix songs. Also in the box is a 90-minute DVD documentary about the 27 years Hendrix spent on Planet Earth. The new Hendrix box set, entitled
