Mike Patton To Make 'Mondo Cane' U.S. Live Premiere at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass
Not that you really needed another reason to go to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this year. But just in case some of you weren't planning on showing up to the festival on Sunday, October 3, here's a pretty good reason to: Mike Patton, Nor-Cal weirdo, Faith No More kingpin, and musical force of nature, will perform the live U.S premiere of his Mondo Cane album at the festival. The album, as you may have heard, has Patton singing '50s and '60s Italian oldies -- in Italian. And while Patton's performed his covers of "Scalinatella" and "Il Cielo In Una Stanza" all over Europe, this is the first time he'll do them live on American shores. It's not too easy to expand the variety of artists performing at Hardly Strictly -- which turns 10 years old this year -- but we think Patton's just done it.
