In Print: Summer Concert Photos, Marina and the Diamonds, and Bouncer Gets Fried Cheese

Categories: In Print
Marina and the Diamonds have a plan for megastardom.
First, an exhortation: pick up the print edition of SF Weekly in the next few days for a full-color page of cool, sexy, ridiculous concert photos from this past summer. You can obviously check 'em out online, but trust us: there's just something cool about seeing pictures of Lady Gaga, Pavement, Paul McCartney, Die Antwoord, Janelle Monae, and others in print.

Next up: Marina Diamandis, the strikingly beautiful head of U.K. pop outfit Marina and the Diamonds, who tells us that she's got a secret plan to become a megastar. "I'm obsessed with how pop culture has declined over the past 10 years, as people think it should be dumbed down," she says. "I feel like I have a responsibility to show that not everything is an Auto-Tuned pile of songs."

Also: Bouncer is grateful for the fried cheese at Sycamore, and we recommend shows from Wild Nothing, Dom, Jimmy Edgar, and Pantha Du Prince.
