The last three performances of Pop-Up Magazine
-- y'know, the amazing magazine-as-live-show event deemed by some (ahem
) to be one of the best things in S.F. -- sold out more quickly than an old-school print editor can down a shot of Old Overholt
. (Tickets for Issue Three even crashed the ticket-selling computer server.) So consider this a public service announcement: Issue Four of Pop-Up Magazine goes down at 7:30 p.m. on September 9 at Herbst Theatre. Tickets go on sale today at noon on the magazine's website
. The next issue will include work by bestselling author Mary Roach, photographer Jim Goldberg, Rolling Stone
correspondent Tim Dickinson, novelist -- and one of the New Yorker
's best fiction writers under 40 -- Yiyun Li, as well as many other fascinating people. After you see them perform a magazine, you can head upstairs to drink and ask them questions. Sounds like a fabulous night, no?
