The last three performances of Pop-Up Magazine -- y'know, the amazing magazine-as-live-show event deemed by some (ahem) to be one of the best things in S.F. -- sold out more quickly than an old-school print editor can down a shot of Old Overholt. (Tickets for Issue Three even crashed the ticket-selling computer server.) So consider this a public service announcement: Issue Four of Pop-Up Magazine goes down at 7:30 p.m. on September 9 at Herbst Theatre. Tickets go on sale today at noon on the magazine's website. The next issue will include work by bestselling author Mary Roach, photographer Jim Goldberg, Rolling Stone correspondent Tim Dickinson, novelist -- and one of the New Yorker's best fiction writers under 40 -- Yiyun Li, as well as many other fascinating people. After you see them perform a magazine, you can head upstairs to drink and ask them questions. Sounds like a fabulous night, no?
