Old 97's Perform For FREE Thursday at Justin Herman Plaza: A Reminder
![]() |
Start working up a cough, schedule a (fake) dentist appointment, ready the tire-piercing nails, or do whatever you have to do, San Franciscans, to leave the office a bit early on Thursday and present yourself in front of Old 97's (aka Stewart Ransom Miller and his longtime band), who are chirping ditties for the princely cost of NOTHING at Justin Herman Plaza.
Again: Old 97's are playing a free show on the Embarcadero at 5 p.m. Thursday, immediately adjacent to the time many working people are released back into the wild. (Hence the need for fake medical appointments.) The free concert is a promotional shtick for the lovely state of Texas (hey, at least it's not Arizona!) wherefrom Old 97's hail. But hell, we'd go see Old 97's play for free even if North Korea was putting on the show.
