Even though Low Limit and Lando Kal aren't San Francisco residents any longer, the two producers' collaborative project, Lazer Sword, has long been the darling of our city's electronic beat scene. In fact, the duo have been working hard at their next-level, intergalactic hip-hop soundscapes for about four years now, releasing only one EP split between the producers, a single for now-old-school tune "Gucci Sweatshirt," a two-track 7", and a couple of free, downloadable mixtapes. But the long wait for a proper debut album from the Lazer boys is finally coming to a close; Lazer Sword, the outfit's eponymous first record, will be released November 2 on Innovative Liesure.

Along with 15 slices of intricately produced, epic beat wizardry, Lazer Sword's forthcoming release will feature the vocal talents of Antipop Consortium's M. Sayyid, Bay Area's hyphy MC mainstay Turf Talk, and a colorful cast of other crooners and wordsmiths. The first single from LS, "Batman," will be released in October, backed with "I'm Gone" and remixes from LA's Nuguzunguzu, UK wonky producer Rustie, and the two Lazer Sword fellas. Before all that, you can check out a load of tunes from the duo, including "Shot in the Nite," which was released on a limited-edition 7" with the Nintendo-inspired "Koopa Boss Mode" a short while back, over on their Soundcloud page. Head over to the Lazer Sword website for more details on the upcoming record.
