| Neon Indian's Alan Palomo, with parrot |
Maybe you saw us ask
Neon Indian's Alan Palomo about his encounter with a very odd bird -- a jacket-wearing parrot, in fact --
in this video from Sunday's All Shook Down Festival. We weren't tripping -- here's a few more pictures of what the bird-indian encounter looked like. From what we can tell, on Sunday, Palomo and the folks in Neon Indian's entourage (who, as you may remember, were all dancing at the back of the big stage for the band's encore), went down onto Green Street after the set to chat with fans, take pictures and sign autographs. There, on the wild streets of San Francisco, the band/crew encountered a strange fellow and his even-more-strange parrot, which got passed around among the members of the group. More pictures after the jump.
The adorable white bird -- which, it must be said, turned out to be capriciously friendly -- appeared quite comfortable on the shoulders of Palomo and his group. It looked especially mystical on the shoulder of Neon Indian guitarist Ronald Geirhart:
But when the bird started to chew on his finger, Geirhart passed it on. Up until this point, Palomo had been signing autographs. He turned around to discover what had been so thoroughly distracting his friends.
This is a good look for Palomo, don't you think? Maybe he'll make shoulder-mounted parrots the must-have hipster accessory of 2010.
