We know. Our list this week is a bit short. Usually we like to offer a myriad of choices for you to go out, get obliterated, and dance to whatever's awesomest through the weekend, but, you know, it's kind of a slow weekend. No worries, however, we've got a pick for Friday and Saturday, both of which are excellent in their own rights. Friday night offers a mini-rave for those looking to get down and dirty, and Saturday features some of the indie-blogs' most beloved bands. We're sure each will suffice for your nights.
Friday, June 4
What: Rock It Science w/ Harvard Bass & Sleazemore
Where: Temple Nightclub
When: 10 p.m. - 4 a.m.
Why: For those of us who like our low-end-heavy dance tunes with a bit of Ivy League education and a lot of dirty ghetto-house influence, there's Harvard Bass. The SoCal DJ/producer is climbing up our fine state to drop a grip of sweaty rave music inside SF's Holy House of Party, Temple Nightclub. And along with local electro-house DJ Sleazemore, the two hyperactive party-starters are sure to cook up something most certainly not for the faint of heart. This is for those looking to get drunk, get live, and get nasty.
Saturday, June 5
What: BFD Pre-Party w/ Matt & Kim, The Golden Filter, and The Soft Pack
Where: Mezzanine
When: 8 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Why: Here's something for the youths and those young at heart. Blog favorites Matt & Kim and The Golden Filter are ringing in this year's BFD along with San Diego garage-rockers The Soft Pack. Between that band's raucous stage antics, The Golden Filter's austere disco-pop, and Matt & Kim's near-annoying call-and-response indie-pop, this party/concert is sure to speak to those whose only responsibility is to live completely in the moment.
