Luckily there are better options for celebrating the King of Pop that don't include getting swiftly kicked out of your social circle. So brush up on the moonwalk and dust off that red leather jacket, because if you can't keep up with the itinerary of MJ events we've compiled for Friday, there's no one to blame but the boogie.
8 a.m. - Wake up to CBS's Early Show morning tribute, with performances by an interesting mix of musicians, including Christina Aguilera, LL Cool J and Marc Anthony. Ah, well. Not everyone can be pop royalty.
Noon - See the Michael Jackson art and photos on display all day at the San Francisco Art Exchange gallery near Union Square on Geary Street. The striking picture above is part of the collection.
4 - 7:30 p.m. - Watch or join one of the six Michael Jackson flash mobs happening around the city. See the full schedule here, as well as online dance tutorials. It doesn't beat these prisoners doing "Thriller," but then again, not much does.
9 p.m. - Shake your body down to the ground to 14-piece Michael Jackson tribute band Foreverland's Moonwalker show at the Regency Ballroom. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster for $40 and will also be available at the door. Don't leave home without your sequined glove, because there will be a costume contest.
Hope 2 c u there, bb!
