Those of you who find it weird that so many people are so into pretending to play a very fake-looking, plastic guitar will soon have a video game of your (OK, our) own. Power Gig: Rise of the Six String, which comes out this October, uses a real musical instrument (yeah, with like, strings and stuff) as its controller. Although you still play the game by pressing buttons, one learns to play real guitar as the game progresses. So when Mom wants to watch Oprah on the TV, you can take the game controller into your room, plug it into a real amp, and terrorize her through the walls with your newfound shredding skills. No wonder it's the only rock 'n' roll video game endorsed by Eric Clapton. But no word yet on whether you can pretend to play the Fillmore.
