Bay Area Ambient Musician Releases Angry Track About Oil Spill, Tony Hayward

It's called "Deepwater Horizon," in fact, and includes snippets of BP's Tony Hayward coldly muttering about, "I want my life back." Asked by his label for a statement on the work, East Bay artist TransFranciscCo (a/k/a Jim Strider), said: "I suppose I could write something ... but if you don't already understand, there's nothing I can do."

We understand. But if we didn't, this creepy slog of "progressive ambient chill" (as label Bay Beat Sounds calls it) would probably make someone understand. Hear it after the jump.

You can hear Strider's anger (and hell, some of ours, too) in the crunchy textures and ominous vibe. The track was recently added to TransFrancisCo's album Sick Karma.
