R.I.P Slipknot's Paul Gray

Categories: R.I.P.

On Monday, Slipknot's bassist Paul Gray, aka No. 2 or "The Pig" was found dead in a hotel room in suburban Iowa. The nu metal band famous for their growling vocals and concealed identities, showed up unmasked to a Des Moines press conference last night to express their loss:

In the video, frontman Corey Taylor says, "We lost our brother, and the world seems a little smaller because of it... the only way I can sum up Paul is 'love.'" And percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, who helped found the band with Gray in 1995, goes on to say: "It's very important that everybody, outside of us, understands that Paul Gray was the essence of the band Slipknot."

The cause of death is not yet known as the toxicology reports are pending. Gray was 38.
