The upcoming fourth album from Ratatat is streaming on NPR right now, and though there are still the staple strident guitar hooks the Brooklyn duo is known for, you can expect a more worldly sound replete with Japanese strings and expertly arranged world percussion. Void of any singing or rapping, the album contains samples and strange interludes instead, with a bit from the Terrence Malick (my favorite director) film Days of Heaven. LP4 comes out June 8.
