Short and Sweet: Brilliant Colors' New Single "Never Mine"
![]() |
"Never Mine," the jangly new single from female S.F. garage-pop trio Brilliant Colors, is just the kind of track we need on a Monday. It's short -- only 1:49! -- but crisp, catchy and a little ragged around the edges. Singer-guitarist Jess Scott has a hurried howl that kicks off right away. Her band mates play like they just threw it all together in a hurry, but the result is more sweet than sloppy. It's a delicious follow up to their 2009 debut full-length, Introducing. Recorded by local psych hero Ty Segall, the "Never Mine" single is out now on Slumberland records; mail order copies even come on green vinyl.
