Monday Morning Hangover: Sopping Wet

This weekend's torrential downpour was enough to keep us inside with a bottle of Jim Beam's finest, streaming Hallmark made-for-TV Criterion movies on Netflix. But in spite of the wretched weather, we managed to pull on our on-trend galoshes and slog out into the night.

Nerds and music fans alike came out for Yuri's Night, an all day event that took place in Mountain View at NASA Ames. The Black Keys, Common, Les Claypool and N.E.R.D (of course) played at the party celebrating Yuri Gagarin, the Russian cosmonaut.

Back in town, attendees got to be part of the art during the mind-bending performance art piece Prove You're Not a Robot. Participants utilized a number of methods to prove the humaness of their cohorts, including examining their most private of parts.

Meanwhile, in Paris, er, The Mission, revelers slapped on the cat-eye eyeliner and became French bohemians for one night. Feathers and fur flew.

 Saturday marked this year's Cesar Chavez festival and scores of people came out in the streets to celebrate the life of the legendary civil rights activist with a festival and parade.
